JOSEPH A. BERTORELLI, Democrat, Baltimore 1st; born in
Baltimore, June 10, 1911. Attended Baltimore public schools; Balti-
more College of Commerce; Baltimore City College. Served in the
Asiatic-Pacific theaters with the U. S. Navy, 1944-45. Professional
Musician. Special Assistant to the Mayor of Baltimore. Member,
Baltimore City Council since 1951. Past vice president, Musicians
Local No. 40 of Baltimore City; past commander, American Legion
Post No. 177; past president, Southeastern Community Council; pres-
ident, Italian-American Civic Club of Maryland, Inc. Member,
Knights of Columbus; Eagles; Catholic War Veterans. Married.
Member of House of Delegates, 1946-54. Elected to the Senate in.
1954.

HARRY A. COLE, Republican, Baltimore 4th; born in Washing-
ton, D. C„ January 1, 1921. Attended Baltimore public schools;
Morgan State College, A.B. 1943; University of Maryland Law
School, LL.B. 1949. Member of the Maryland Bar. Served as 1st
Lieutenant, Quartermaster Corps, U. S. Army, 1943-46. Formerly
Justice of the Peace of Baltimore City and Assistant Attorney Gen-
eral of Maryland. Member, U. S. National Commission for UNESCO.
Secretary, Monumental City Bar Association. Member, Y.M.C.A.;
Urban League; N.A.A.C.P.; Alpha Kappa Mu Honor Society. Un-
married. Elected to the Senate in 1954.

ROBERT P. DEAN, Democrat, Queen Anne's County; born in
Ridgely, Caroline County, April 9, 1909. Attended Caroline County
public schools; Washington College, A.B. 1931; Sperry Gyro School,
New York, 1934. Farmer. Served in the Cavalry, C.M.T.C., 1925-29.
Past president, Centreville Rotary Club; Queen Anne's County Farm
Bureau. Married. Elected to the Senate in 1954.

GEORGE W. DELLA, Democrat, Baltimore 6th; born in Baltimore,
February 9, 1908. Attended Baltimore public schools; Baltimore City
College, A.B. 1927; University of Baltimore, B.B.A. 1932; University
of Baltimore Law School, LL.B. 1935. Admitted to the Maryland
Bar, 1936. Member, Masons; Baltimore Country Club. Married. Ap-
pointed to the Senate in 1939. President of the Senate, 1951-54.

THOMAS F. DEMPSEY, Democrat, Baltimore 3rd; born in Ham-
ilton, Baltimore County, September 6, 1914. Attended St. Paul's
School, Baltimore; Calvert Hall; University of Baltimore, A.B. 1938.
Admitted to the Maryland Bar, 1941. Married. Member of the House
of Delegates, 1939-54. Elected to the Senate in 1954.

ANTHONY F. DiDOMENICO, Democrat, Baltimore 2nd; born in
Baltimore, June 24, 1905. Attended Baltimore public schools;
University of Maryland Law School, LL.B. 1926; The Johns Hopkins
University. Member of the Maryland Bar. Member, Baltimore City
Council, 1947-54. Elk. Unmarried. Member of the House of Dele-
gates, 1942-46. Elected to the Senate in 1954.

CHARLES L. DOWNEY, Republican, Washington County; born
in Downsville, May 31, 1915. Attended public schools; University
of Maryland College of Agriculture, B.S. 1938. Operates farm ma-
