188 MARYLAND MANUAL

It is the function of this office to examine the dockets of the courts of
the State to determine the need for additional assistance and to make
recommendations to the Chief Judge relative to the assignment of judges;
to compile and collect statistics regarding the business of the courts; to
formulate and recommend policies for the improvement of the judicial
system and to provide a central office for the fiscal and other administrative
functions of the Judiciary (Code 1955, supp., Art. 26, secs. 6A-6E).
