MOUNT WILSON STATE HOSPITAL

Mount Wilson was established in 1925. It provides for the care of
500 patients in all stages of tuberculosis.

PINE BLUFF STATE HOSPITAL

Salisbury (Wicomico County) Telephone: Salisbury 6503

Pine Bluff State Hospital, also known as the Eastern Shore Branch,
was established in 1928, It provides for the care of sixty-five patients.

Appropriations 1953 1954
General Fund. $3,002,854 $3,504,287

The total appropriation for the four tuberculosis hospitals is
administered by the Bureau of Tuberculosis and allocated to each
hospital on a basis of need.

MONTEBELLO STATE HOSPITAL

Montebello is the second of three units to be established for the
care of indigent chronic disease patients in Maryland. It is operated
under the supervision of the Bureau of Medical Services and Hospi-

DEER'S HEAD STATE HOSPITAL

Deer's Head State Hospital is the first unit of three to be con-

It is operated under the supervision of the Bureau of Medical Services
and Hospitals. The capacity of the hospital is 284.
