An Act to repeal and reenact with amendments Section 5 of Article 62
of the Annotated Code of Maryland (1924 Edition), title "Marriages" to fix
the time within which marriage licenses may be issued, the purpose being to
require a forty-eight hour waiting period between the application for a
marriage license and the performance of the ceremony.
NOTE: The vote being in favor of the referred law, the same went into
effect December 9th, 1938.
