OFFICERS OF THE HOUSE OF DELEGATES.—Hon. Pem-
broke Thom, Speaker; Thos. H. Moore, Chief Clerk;
Dr. Wm. H. Cole, Reading Clerk; Wm. S. Merrick,
Journal Clerk; George E. H. Marshall, Engrossing
Clerk; R. C. McNutt, Sergeant-at-Arms.

COMPOSITION OF THE LEGISLATURE.—The Legislature
consists of two Branches, a Senate and a House of Dele-
gates, and is styled the General Assembly of Maryland.
Art. III, Sec. 1, Const.

EACH COUNTY AND EACH OF THE THREE LEGISLATURE DIS-
TRICTS of Baltimore is entitled to elect by the qualified
voters a Senator to serve four years. Art. III, Sec. 2,
Const.

THE COUNTIES AND CITY OF BALTIMORE are represented
in the House of Delegates as follows:
