All members must be practical barbers, with at least five years’ experi- ence immediately prior to their appointment. (Ch. 371, 1935.) The duties of the Barber Examiners are to examine and license all barbers who come into the State and all apprentices who have served their apprenticeship of two years and all journeymen barbers who have worked as such under a master barber for a period of at least one year. It is also the duty of the Barber Examiners to examine and license master barbers before they are permitted to enter into business. All members of the profession who were engaged in the barber business prior to the passage of this Act, and who hold licenses under the Act of 1904 are exempted from the above provisions except that they must renew their licenses annually. It is also the duty of the Barber Exam- iners to see that all barber shops are kept in strictly sanitary condition according to rules outlined by the Board and approved by the State Board of Health. Every barber is required to take a medical examina- tion every two years, including tubercular and Wasserman tests. This law became effective June 1, 1935. STATE BOARD OF CHIROPRACTIC EXAMINERS. Baltimore The Governor appoints the board, one member each year for a term of three years. No two members shall be graduates of the same college. The basic duty of the Beard as provided by the Chiropractic Act of this State is to regulate the practice of Chiropractic in Maryland and test the qualifications of applicants by examination. Two examinations are held, January and July each year in Anat- omy and Histology, Physiology, Symptomatology and Pathology, Or- thopedy, Adjusting, Chiropractic Principles, Nerve Tracing, Chemis- try, Hygiene, Bacteriology, Physical Diagnosis and Roentgenology. The Act requires applicants to be graduated from a first grade four year high school or the equivalent and to be graduates of a recog- nized Chiropractic College teaching a resident course of three years of six months each or more comprising at least 2000—60 minute hours of instruction.
