316 MARYLAND MANUAL.

According to the above Acts the State requires Washington College
to furnish two scholarships covering free tuition, board, room rent and
text books to each of the nine counties on the Eastern Shore and one
such scholarship to each of the counties on the Western Shore and to
each of the districts of Baltimore City.

The total scholarships awarded by Washington College are 38
covering tuition, board, room rent and text books; 25 covering tuition
and text books, and 188 covering tuition.
