COUNTY ALMSHOUSE COMMISSIONS

The Legislature of 1929, by Joint Resolution No. 9, provided for the
appointment by the Governor of two commissions, one from the Eastern
Shore and the other from the Western Shore, whose duty it should be
to investigate the present system of county almshouses and. the needs of
dependent aged and infirm residents and report to the General Assembly
of 1931 as to the advisability of establishing a home and infirmary for
the dependent aged and infirm on the Eastern Shore, and a similar in-
stitution on the Western Shore.
