890 WASHINGTON COUNTY. [ART. 21.

52. Any person violating the provisions of the last preceding
section, shall be liable to presentment and indictment in the
Circuit Court for said county, and, upon conviction, shall be
fined, in the discretion of the court, a sum not exceeding fifty
dollars.

BAILIFFS.

53. The bailiffs to the Circuit Court for said county, shall be
entitled to one dollar and fifty cents for each day they may be
employed as such.

CIRCUIT COURT.

54. There shall be three regular common law terms of the
Circuit Court for Washington county, commencing at Hagers-
town, on the first Monday of March, fourth Monday of July, and
fourth Monday of November, in each year.

55. The sheriff of said county, shall summon for the July
term of the Circuit Court only twenty-four jurors, who shall
constitute the petit jury for said term; at all other terms be
shall summon the usual number of persons, who shall constitute
the grand and petit jurors for said terms.

56- The chancery terms of said court shall be fixed by the
judge thereof; and all chancery process shall be returnable to
the common law as well as to the chancery terms; and the said
court, as a chancery court, shall be considered as always open
for the transaction of equity business.

57. The trial terms of said court, for the cases depending
therein, shall be the terms next succeeding the terms to which
the original process may be returnable.

58. In all cases in the Circuit Court for said county, where,
at the trial thereof, exception shall be taken to any opinion or
direction of the court, and an appeal or writ of error shall be
taken, or sued forth from or upon the judgment of the court, all
the exceptions of all the parties, plaintiffs and defendants, that
may have been taken, and' whether the appeal or writ of error
be taken or sued by all or any of said parties, shall be certified
to the Court of Appeals as a part of the transcript of the record
to that court, and shall by said court be decided; and the de-
cision of said court in the premises, if the cause be remitted to
