for the amount of the said assessment list, and all other sums of
money collected by him under their order, at or before the end
of three months from his receipt of the list of assessments.

52. The collector shall assess and value any assessable property
that he may find within the limits of the town unassessed by the
assessor at its worth in ready money, and collect the amount of
tax thereon as if the same were inserted in the assessment list
aforesaid, and shall account for the same as directed in the pre-
ceding section.

53. The said commissioners shall annually, on the first Monday
in May, or within ten days thereafter, appoint a treasurer, who
shall, before he enters upon the duties of his office, give bond to
the commissioners, with one good security, in such gum as they
shall require, with condition that he shall well and faithfully
execute the office of treasurer of the board of commissioners of
the town of Easton, and perform the duties required of him by
law and the orders and ordinances of the said commissioners,
and well and truly account to them, without default or delay,
when and as often as he shall be required, for all sums of money
paid into his hands by them, or by their order, or by any of their
officers.

54. The said treasurer shall keep an account of all money
that shall be received and paid away by him as treasurer, and
the said account shall be at all times open to the inspection of
the commissioners, or of any other person interested therein.

55. The said commissioners shall also, on the first Monday in
May annually, or within ten days thereafter, appoint a bailiff, a
clerk of the market, a scavenger or supervisor of streets, and
shall from time to time prescribe their duties,

56. The person appointed bailiff shall, before he acts as such,
make oath before the said commissioners, that he will diligently,
faithfully and impartially perform the duties of his office, without
favor, 'affection or prejudice.

57. The bailiff shall notify the several commissioners of ail
meetings, as they shall from time to time be appointed, and
attend such meetings of the commissioners; shall serve all sub-
poenas that shall be ordered by them, and make return thereof;

shall abate all nuisances and remove all obstructions in the
