name and style of " The Commissioners of Centreville," and as
such may sue and be sued, and may have and use a common
seal, and may alter the same at pleasure.

81. The bounds and limits of said town, shall be as described
in the plata thereof, on file, and of record, in the office of the
clerk of the Circuit Court for Queen Anne's county.

32. All persons who have resided within the corporate limits
of said town for six months, and who are entitled to vote fbr
delegates to the General Assembly, shall, at the court-house,
in Bald town, on the first Monday in April annually, elect by
ballot seven persons, residents of, and holding real property
in, said town, above the value of three hundred dollars, as com-
missioners.

88. If any of said commissioners shall die, resign, or be dis-
qualified to act, the citizens of said town qualified to vote afore-
aaid, shall proceed, as soon as convenient, to elect a person to
fill such vacancy, and the office of a commissioner shall be
vacated by his removal from said town.

84. Each commissioner, before he proceeds to act as such,
shall make oath before a justice of the peace for Queen Anne's
county, that he will diligently and faithfully, to the best of his
skill and judgment, perform the duties of a commissioner of
said town, without favor, partiality or- prejudice, and a certi-
ficate of such qualification shall be returned by the said justice
to the commissioners, and filed and recorded among their pro-
ceedings.

35. The said commissioners shall meet annually on the second
Monday in April, and on the first Monday in every third month
thereafter, and as much offcener as they may think proper; not
less than a majority shall constitute a board for the transaction
of any business, except an adjournment.

86. They may appoint a clerk, who shall keep the minutes
of their proceedings, in a well bound book to be provided by
them for that purpose, and they may also appoint a bailiff to
said town, and prescribe his duties, and shall pay the said clerk
and bailiff such compensation as they may deem reasonable, and
may remove either of said officers at pleasure.
