sils necessary for the support' and furnishing of said alms-house
and the land thereto belonging.
12. They shall meet at the alms-house in said county four
times in the year, to wit: on the first week in January, May,
August and November, or often er if it should be necessary, and
make, by a majority of votes of such as may be present, all such
ordinances and by-laws as they may think necessary for the
government and support of said alms-house, and for the mainte-
nance and employment of all poor persons therein, and of all
vagrants, beggars, vagabonds, and other offenders that shall be
committed -thereto-
13. They shall keep a regular account of all moneys by them
expended, and return a true copy thereof, with the vouchers
therefor, to the county commissioners, at their annual meeting
to make the county levy.
14. They shall take into their care and possession all the pro-
perty, real and personal, of any person who shall be admitted
into the said alms-house, and shall occupy and use the same and
apply the profits thereof to the maintenance and support of the
poor of the said county so long as the owner thereof shall remain
in said alms-house.
15. The overseer shall keep a fair and regular list of all poor,
beggars, vagrants, vagabonds and other offenders committed to
said alms-house.
16. He shall keep a regular account of all things which may
come tu his bauds as overseer, and of all expenses and charges
attending the maintenance and support of the inmates of said
alms-house, and of all moneys by him received for the sale of the
produce of their labor or otherwise, and lay the said list and ac-
counts before the trustees when required.
17. He may compel any of the inmates of the said alms-house
to work and labor, if of sufficient ability, and shall appropriate
the produce of their labor to their support.
18. Upon complaint being made that any person from his dis-
orderly conduct gives disturbance to a neighborhood and is likely
to become chargeable to, said county, any justice of the peace, if
upon hearing the party he shall judge the complaint to be well
