21*. Nothing in this article shall be construed to release the
bond of the treasurer or sheriff of Howard county from liability
for any duties or responsibility heretofore imposed upon them
by law.
ELECTIONS.
22. Howard county is divided into five election districts, accord-
ing to their present bounds and limits, and all elections for public
officers shall be held in each of said election districts at the place
now established by law for that purpose. *The bounds of election
district number one in said county shall be as follows, to wit i
beginning at a pomt where the old Annapolis road crosses the
Columbia Turnpike road, and following the said old Annapolis
road until it reaches a point at or near George Stocket's house,
then by a road leading from the said old Annapolis road through
the lands of William J. Timanus and Ashbury Fisher, until it in-
tersects the county road from Hillen to Elkridge Landing, and
then following the lines of said election district as heretofore
established, to the place of beginning.
23. The judges and clerks of elections in said county, shall each
receive three dollars a day for each day they shall be engaged in
the discharge of their respective duties.
JURORS.
24*. The pay of each juror of Howard county shall be two
dollars for every day he shall attend as such juror.
JUSTICES or THE PEACE AND CONSTABLES.
25. There shall be the following number of justices of the
peace and constables in said county, to wit: For election district
number one, three justices of the peace and two constables; for
election district number two, three justices of the peace and
two constables; for election district number three, three justices
of the peace and two constables; for election district number
fonr, three justices of the peace and two constables; for election
district number five, three justices of the peace and two constables.

26. The constables in said county shall be entitled to the fol-
lowing fees: For serving a summons for debt under fifty dollars
and' retard, forty cents; fbr serving a summons for debt over
fifty dollars and return, fifty cents; for serving scire facias and
