• CHARLOTTE HALL.
29. The judge of the Circuit Court for Charles county shall
suppress any license for the retail of ardent spirits at or in the
village of Charlotte Hall, or within two miles thereof, in Charles
county, upon the recommendation of a majority of the trustees
of Charlotte Hall Academy, stating that they believe the retailing
of liquor at such place to be injurious to the interests of said
academy.
30. The clerk of the Circuit Court for Charles county shall not
issue license to retail ardent spirits at any place within the limits
prescribed in the preceding section, at which a license to retail
the same has been previously suppressed, except upon the con-
sent, in writing, of a majority of the trustees of Charlotte Hall
Academy, designating the place at which and the person to whom
such license may be granted.
CIRCUIT OOUKT.
31. The terms of the Circuit Court for Charles county shall
commence at Port Tobacco on the first Monday in May and first
Monday in. December.

32. The judge of the Circuit Court for Charles county may, in
his discretion, appoint intermediate terma for the transaction of
equity or other business not requiring a jury, to which equity
process may be made returnable.
COUNTY COMMISSIONERS.
83. There shall be five county commissioners for Charles
county. ^
34. Each of said commissioners shall be entitled to two dollars
and fifty cents a day for every day he shall necessarily attend to
the duties of his office.

35. They shall annually appoint a clerk, and in case of vacancy
from any cause, shall supply the same at their next meeting
thereafter, or as aoon as practicable.
36. The clerk shall give bond to the State of Maryland, ap-
proved by the commissioners, in the penalty of one thousand
