for the furnishing and support of said alms-noise and the land
thereto belonging. «

10. They -ehall.meet at the alms-house four times in the year,
to wit; In the first week in February, May, August and Novem-
ber, or oftener if necessary, to make, by a majority of votes of
awb. »B maybe present, such rules and by-laws as they may
think convenient and necessary for the direction, government
and support of the alms-house and maintenance and employment
of all poor persons therein, and of all vagrants, beggars, vaga-
bonds -and other offenders that may be committed thereto.

11. They shall keep a regular account of all moneys by them
expended, and return a true copy thereof, with the vouchers
therefor, to the county commissioners, at their meeting for
making the county levy.

12. The oyerseer shall keep a regular list of all poor, beg-
gars, vagrants, vagabonds and other offenders committed to
said alms-house.

13. He shall also keep a regular account of all things which
may oeme to his hands as overseer, and of all money by him
expended, and lay them before the trustees at their regular
meetings, w oftener if required.

-14.-He may compel any of the inmates of said alms-house, if
of sufficient ability, to work, and shall account for the produce
of their labor.

15. Upon complaint being made to any justice of the peace,
and upon his being satisfied, upon hearing the party, that the
complaint is well founded, and that the party charged, from his
disorderly conduct, gives disturbance to a neighborhood, and is
likely to become chargeable to the county, he may commit such
disorderly person to the alms-house for any time not exceeding
three months, unless he shall find security, in the discretion of
the justice, in any sum not exceeding fifty dollars, for his good
behavior during the space of six months.

18. Upon complaint and due proof made by the overseer or
any one of the trustees of the poor to any justice of the peace of
the-county, that any person in the said alms-house hath behaved
himself in a disorderly manner, or hath neglected or refused
