Bach directions as may be deemed necessary, by said commis-
sioners to carry into effect the provisions of this charter.

168*. The aforesaid commissioners, or a majority thereof, may
meet together, at such times as occasion may seem to require,
upon the business of said village, -and not less than once in every
three months; and if during the year for which they are. elected,
any of said commissioners shall die, resign, remove from said
village, or from any cause be disqualified, an election to fill the
vacancy, on ten days' notice being given by the commissioners,
shall be held, at which all persons qualified as is herein specified
shall be entitled to vote.

169*. The aforesaid commissioners, or a majority of th'em, shall
have power to appoint a clerk and assign his duties, allowing
him such compensation for his services as they shall think
proper; and all ordinances passed by said commissioners, or a
majority, shall by their clerk be entered in a book kept by him
for that purpose, and shall be at all times open for the inspection
of any person interested, and copies of all ordinances shall be put
up in the most public places of said village.

170*. All fines and forfeitures under the ordinances of the
said corporation may be recovered, as small debts are recover-
able, before any justice of the peace.

171*. The corporate bounds of said village shall be as follows:

beginning at the west corner of the .Rising Sun.school house
lot, and running thence 85° east 92 perches, thence south 72}°
east 83.72 perches, thence south 42i .degrees west 167.76 •
perches, thence north 190° west 17.24 perches, thence north 85}°
vest 60.36 perches, thence north 47.2 perches, thence north 6°
east 75.44 perches to place of beginning; and the property
within said limits shall be subject to such taxes and assessments
as may be deemed necessary by the said commissioners, or a
majority of them, to support and maintain the expenses that
may be incurred in the improvements of said town.

172*. The said commissioners, or a majority of them, shall
have full power to make all such by-laws, regulations and
ordinances, riot inconsistent with the laws and Constitution of
this State, as they may from time to time deem wise, equitable
and expedient for the health, convenience and prosperity of the
said village and* its inhabitants, and for the prevention and re-
