MOUNT AIRY.

35. No person shall sell or dispose of any distilled, fermented
or intoxicating liquors in the village of Mount Airy, in Carroll
county, or within half a mile of said village; and any person so
offending shall, for the first offence, forfeit the sum of fifty
dollars, and for each subsequent offence the sum of one hundred
dollars, and be imprisoned not exceeding thirty days.

36. The fines imposed by the preceding section may be re-
covered before a justice of the peace of the county where the
offence was committed; one-third to the informer and the residue
to the school commissioners of Carrol! county, for the use of
primary schools.

ORPHANS' COURT.

37. The regular terms of the Orphans' Court of Carroll county
shall be held on the second Monday in every month of February,
April, June, August, October and December.

"38. The said court, if necessary for the despatch of business,
shall, by its adjournments, be held on the Monday of every week
in the year other than the weeks of the regular terms.

39. They may adjourn from Monday in each week in the year
to Tuesday of said week, if necessary for the despatch of busi-
ness, and all the justices shall concur in such further adjourn-
ment; but in no case and under no circumstances whatever shall
they sit oftener than two days in any one week, except during
the sessions of the Circuit Court, when, if necessary, they may
sit during the whole term; and they shall sit from nine o'clock,
A.M., to three o'clock, P.M.

40. Each judge of the Orphans' Court shall receive an allow-
ance of two dollars per day for each day he shall be present
during the session of the court, and five cents per mile for every
mile he shall travel coming from and returning to his place of
residence to the city of Westminster; but such mileage shall
not be allowed more than once in any one week.

41. The register of wills of Carroll county, at each meeting
of the Orphans' Court, shall make a memorandum on the
minutes of the court of the number of miles travelled by each
