152*. It shall be the duty of the Board of Commissioners of
Public Schools of Allegany County to publish annually a full
and complete statement of the condition of the schools under
their charge, the salaries of teachers, the number of the districts,
the number of pupils in each district, stating their sex, the
branches taught, average daily attendance, the cost of books and
stationery, with general and particular expenses of the system,
and such other matters as may be of public interest in connec-
tion with said schools; no teacher to be paid without the pre-
sentation of his certificate with his order, unless it can be shown
that he has lost or mislaid said certificate.

153*. The members of the Board of Commissioners of Public
Schools of Allegany County shall receive as compensation for
their services, not more than two dollars per day for every day
that they may be occupied in attending the meetings of the
board, and the same compensation shall be allowed to the com-
mittees of the board when in attendance upon such duties as the
board may assign them.

154*. The Orphans' Court of Allegany county shall Jiave power,
whenever, in their discretion, they shall deem it proper, to ap-
point one sensible and discreet person in each election district
of said county, who shall constitute a board for the purpose of
dividing the county into school districts, and said board shall
make such division without reference to the boundaries of elec-
tion districts, and shall report said division to the Orphans'
Court of Allegany county as soon as practicable, who shall have
power to alter or change any lines for good and sufficient rea-
sons ; and after such division shall have been confirmed by said
board the plot shall be recorded in a book kept for that purpose.

155*. The present school fund of Allegany county, and all
other funds which may be by any law of this State applied to
the purposes of education in said county, shall be paid directly
to the Treasurer of the Board of Commissioners of Public
Schools of Allegany County; and the balance necessary for the
support of the schools shall be annually estimated and deter-
mined by said Board of Commissioners of Public Schools, who
shall report the same to the county commissioners, who are
hereby authorized and required to levy annually the sum so es-
timated and reported upon the assessable property of Allegany
county, to be collected in the same manner as other taxes now
are or shall hereafter be collected: the said school tax, when col-
