until it intersects the tan yard branch, thence running with said
branch until a due north line will include all the buildings on
that part of said town, thence north thirty-five perches, thence
easterly so as to include all the houses and lots within the limits
of said town, until a due south line will go to the first place of
beginning.

32. The free white male citizens of Bridgetown of the age of
twenty-one years and upwards shall, on the second Monday of
April in each year, at such place in said town as shall be desig-
nated by the corporation, elect five persons who have resided in
said town three months next preceding the election, commis-
sioners of Bridgetown.

33. All elections shall be held and conducted as shall from time
to time be directed by the by-laws of the corporation not incon-
sistent with this charter.

34. If during the year for which they may be elected any of
the commissioners shall die, resign, or remove from the town, or
be otherwise disqualified, an election to fill the vacancy shall be
held, at which all persons qualified to vote for commissioners
shall be entitled to vote.

35. The commissioners so elected shall, at their first meeting
after their election, choose some one of their number president
of the board, who shall preside at the meetings of the commis-
sioners, preserve order, and give such directions as the com-
missioners may deem necessary to enforce the provisions of this
charter.

36. The commissioners may meet from time to time as often
as occasion may require, and not less than on.ce in every three
months.

37. They may appoint a clerk and prescribe his duties, and
may allow him such compensation as they may think proper.

38. The clerk shall enter all ordinances passed by the com-
missioners in a book to be kept by him for that purpose, and
they shall at all times be open to the inspection of any person
interested, and copies of all ordinances shall be put up at the
most public places in the town.
