designation of the land or property conveyed as the conveyances
may furnish.

54. The said clerk shall be entitled to charge and receive in
addition to the amount chargeable for recording such convey-
ances or writings, twenty cents for the entry of each in said
index.

COLIECTOKS.

65. Baltimore county shall be districted into five collection
districts; the first, second and thirteenth election districts shall
compose the first collection district; the third and fourth election
districts shall compose the second collection district; the fifth,
sixth, seventh and eighth election districts shall compose the
third collection district; the ninth and tenth election districts
shall compose the fourth collection district; the eleventh and
twelfth election districts shall compose the fifth collection
district.

56. The county commissioners of Baltimore county are hereby
authorized and required to appoint five collectors upon the first
Tuesday of March of each and every year, who shall hold their
office for one year, for the collection of State and county taxes,
one for each of the collection districts as composed in the pre-
ceding section, and said collectors shall give a bond to the State
of Maryland in the full sum of State taxes placed in their hands
respectively for collection, and also a bond to the State of Mary-
land, for the use of the county commissioners, in the full sum of
county taxes placed in their hands respectively for collection,
said bonds to bo approved by the county commissioners of said
county, and t'o be given within ten days from the date of appoint-
ment, and upon failure to do so, the county commissioners to
appoint a successor.

57. The commission as compensation to said collectors for the
collection of said taxes, shall be as follows: five per centum for
the second and fourth collection districts; six per centum for tho
first and fifth collection districts; and seven per centum for the
third collection district, upon all sums collected and paid over,
and it shall be the duty of the county commissioners to levy for
the said commission in the general levy of State and county
taxes, said commissions to be estimated upon the whole amount
to be placed in the hands of each collector.
