Baltimore exclusively, annually thereafter, and pay, or cause
the same to be paid, to the trustees aforesaid between the first
day of May and the first day of October in each year, if re-
quired.

38*. The county commissioners of Baltimore county are au-
thorized to make sale or lease for a term of years of all that
portion of the real estate known as the Alms-house property,
which was purchased by Baltimore county, from the com-
missioners appointed oh the part of Baltimore city, and the
commissioners appointed on the part of Baltimore county, to
make public sale of the same, at the Exchange in the city of
Baltimore, on the twenty-third day of March, in the year
eighteen hundred and fifty-eight; Provided, however, that no such
sale or lease for term of years shall be made for a less sum than
the actual cost of said property, as the same shall appear upon
the books of the commissioners of Baltimore county, to Balti-
more county, or if on lease, six per cent. interest net on said
cost as aforesaid.

S9*. The county commissioners of Baltimore county may sell
the said property for cash or upon a reasonable credit, or lease
the same for a term of years, as to them may seem best; and in
the event of the mayor and city council of Baltimore becoming
the purchaser of said property, the commissioners are authorized
and required to receive in payment therefor the corporate stock
of Baltimore city, bearing interest of six per cent. per annum,
payable semi-annually, and redeemable on or before the first day
of April, eighteen hundred and seventy-nine.

40*. The county commissioners shall be entitled to charge and
receive, as a compensation for their services in making such
sale, the same rate of per diem as they are allowed by law for
every day they may be engaged in such service.

BAKERS.

41. If any baker or other person residing in the city of Balti-
more, shall sell or offer to sell bread within said county, under
other regulations than such as are described by an ordinance of
the said city, approved the sixteenth of March, eighteen hun-
dred and twenty-six, so far as relates to the weight and quality
of the bread, he shall forfeit and pay the sum of five dollars, for
