420 MILITIA. [ART. 63.

general shall report the fact to the Governor, who shall there-
upon revoke the commissions of the officers of such company,
and every such revocation shall be communicated by the adju-
tant general to the commandant on whose report the same was
founded.

24. The said commandant shall then furnish a list of the men
who last composed said company to the captain of the district
militia within whose bounds said men reside, who shall imme-
diately enrol them in the said district militia and notify them
thereof, and if any officer shall neglect or refuse to comply with
the provisions of this section, he shall be fined not exceeding
fifty dollars, in the discretion of such court martial as the case
may require.

25. No cavalry uniformed company shall consist of more than
sixty men, and no rifle, artillery or infantry company shall con-
sist of more than one hundred men, exclusive of commissioned
officers, and no uniformed brigade which has for two successive
years less than two regiments, and no uniformed regiment which
has for two successive years less than four companies of infantry,
riflemen or artillery, or if of cavalry, less than two companies,
shall continue or retain its organization.

26. Whenever a volunteer company is reduced to less than,
twenty members, or whenever a company fails to hold one
parade for drill and exercise, between the first of March and
the first of November in any year, it shall be considered as dis-
solved.

27. The commanding officer of every uniform volunteer com-
pany shall make a report to the adjutant general in the month
of November of each year, according to such forms as the ad-
jutant general may prescribe, and the adjutant general shall
from time to time furnish suitable blanks and forms to the
respective commanding officers, to enable them to make said
report.

28. If from the returns received or wanting the adjutant
general shall suspect that any uniformed brigade or regiment
has not such complement, he shall cause the same to be investi-
gated, and if it shall appear that such brigade or regiment has
not said complement, he shall report the fact to the Governor,
who shall thereupon revoke the commissions of the general and
