troller for his approval; and if the Comptroller shall approve
said bond and securities, he shall certify the same to the judge
of said court, and such certificate shall be recorded in said court.
68. The said clerk shall, every second year, renew his said
bond in the same penalty, and with securities to be certified and
approved as hereinbefore directed.
69. If the clerk of said court shall fail to give bond as herein
directed, within thirty days after he has received his commission,
or shall fail to give a new hond within thirty days after the
expiration of two years from the date of the bond previously
given, it shall be regarded as a misdemeanor in office, and upon
conviction thereof, he shall be removed.
70. No deputy or assistant of such clerk shall become a surety
on his official bond.
CLERK or THE COURT OF COMMON PLEAS.
71. The clerk of the Court of Common Pleas shall give bond
to the State of Maryland in the sum of fifty thousand dollars,
conditioned for the faithful performance of the duties now re-
quired, or which may hereafter be required of him by law, with
sufficient securities—the sufficiency of which securities shall be
certified by the judge of said court, and approved by the Comp-
troller, as herein directed.
72. The provisions contained in the sections of this article
from section sixty-seven to section seventy, both inclusive,
relating to the bonds to be given by the clerk of the Superior
Court of Baltimore city, and the penalties and forfeitures for not
giving the same, shall be applicable to the bonds to be given by
the clerk of the Court of Common Pleas, in the same manner a
if they were herein repeated.
73. All the provisions herein contained relating to the obtain-
ing of blank licenses, granting the same and returning an
account thereof to the Comptroller by the clerks of the Circuit
Courts for the counties, shall aipply to the clerk of the court of
Common Pleas as fully as if the same were herein repeated.
