STATUTES.

    CHAP. 2.  Nothing shall be purveyed to the
king's use without the owners consent.
    CHAP. 3.  Nothing shall be taken of sacks of
wool by colour of male tolt.
    CHAP. 5.  Pardon granted to certain offenders.
    CHAP. 6.  The curse of the church shall be pronounced
against the breakers of this charter.

    This statute contained sixteen chapters, relating to the grievances of the church, the prelates and
clergy.  The sixteenth which related to clerks convict of felony, was altered by 28 Hen. 8, Ch. 1.
 

The statute of sheriffs, 9 Edw. 2, Stat. 2.--A. D. 1315.


 
STATUTES.

    Sheriffs shall be assigned by the chancellor, &c.
A sheriff must have sufficient in the same county,
and not be bailiff, &c. to any.--Bailiffs of hundreds
shall have sufficient in the same shire.

NOTES.

    See 1 Bl. Com. 339, as to the appointment of
sheriffs in England; but the statutes relating 
thereto, did not extend to the province.  The proprietor
was probably empowered by the charter
to appoint them under the general description of
officers; and the council proceedings mention a
