closed in April 1774, and a convention was held in June in the same year.  The statutes above
referred to, were Ch. 79, respecting mortgages executed in the plantations to the subjects in Great-Britain;
and Ch. 84 concerning naturalization.  There was also in 1775, a statute to restrain the
trade and commerce of the colonies, (Ch. 18,) and in 1776, an act to prohibit all trade with them,
(Ch. 5.)  There was also in 1774, an act respecting the fees of prisoners acquitted, (Ch. 20;) an act
for regulating insurances upon lives, (ch. 48;) and in 1775, an act respecting promissory notes,
(Ch. 51,) which were in their provisions applicable to the province, but of course did not extend
thereto.
