in Cecil county.  There are several other proceedings in the said journal, in which this statute
is referred to, with the others concerning trade, &c.

CHAP. 19.  An act to prevent concealments of his majesty's customs and subsidies.

13 and 14 Charles 2.--A. D. 1662.

CHAP. 1.  An act for preventing the mischiefs and dangers that may arise by certain
persons called quakers, and others refusing to take lawful oaths.

    See the note on 3 James 1, Ch. 4.  This was one of the statutes mentioned in the toleration act;
but it was of course subject to the operation of the statute 7 and 8 W. 3, Ch. 34, as to affirmations.

CHAP. 4.  An act for the uniformity of public prayers, and administration of sacraments,
    and other rites and ceremonies; and for establishing the form of making,
    ordaining, and consecrating bishops, priests and deacons, in the church of

    England.

    See the note above.  This statute was also mentioned in the toleration act.

CHAP. 11.  An act for preventing frauds, and regulating abuses, in his majesty's
customs.

    See the note on 12 Charles 2, Ch. 18.  This statute is referred to with others in the council proceedings
in 1697, as follows:  " Orders and instructions to be observed by F. Nicholson, governor of
Maryland, in pursuance of several laws relating to the trade and navigation of the kingdom of Great
Britain, and the colonies and plantations in America.  You shall inform yourself of the principal
laws relating to the plantation trade, viz. 12 Car. 2; the act for preventing frauds, &c. 14 Car. 2;
the act for the encouragement of trade, 15 Car. 2; the act for regulating the plantation trade, 22 and
23 Car. 2; the act for encouragement of the Eastland trade, &c. 25 Car. 2; and the acts for preventing
frauds, 7 and 8 W. 3, all which laws you will hereby receive."
 

15 Charles 2.--A. D. 1663.

    were disabled from subscribing the declaration in the act of uniformity;
    and explanation of part of the said act.
