NIGHT SESSION.

WEDNESDAY, March 18th, 8 o'clock, P. M.
The House met.
Present at the call of the roll the following members :

ner, Maynard, Silver, Nelson, Vandiver, Hubbard, Wentz,
Robb, Morse, Blake, Latrobe, Smith, of Baltimore city, Bond,
of Baltimore city, McElroy, Harig, Markland, Coudy, Roh-
rer, Seibert, Riggs, Offutt, Conley, McCulloh, Kean, Trim-
ble, Hall, Davis, of Carroll, Jordan, Worthington, Clark,

On motion of Mr. Wentz,
(The rules being suspended,)

The House proceeded to the consideration of the bill enti-
tled an Act to add a new Article to the Code of Public Gene-
ral Laws, to be entitled "Public Education," providing a
general system of Free Public Schools for the State of Mary-
land, and to repeal all Laws inconsistent therewith.

Pending the reading of chapter 21, Sources of Income,
section I,

Mr. Latrobe moved a reconsideration of the vote by which
the said section was ordered to a third reading.

The question being on concurring in the motion to recon-
sider,

Mr. Smith, of Baltimore city, demanded the yeas and nays.

The demand being sustained,
