The bill entitled an Act appointing a Committee with au-
thority to purchase a lot or lots of ground in the city of An-
napolis, and causing to he erected thereon a mansion for the
Governor of this State, and making an appropriation there-
for.

Being upon a second reading,

Mr. Wenner submitted the fallowing amendment :

Section 1, line 2, insert the name of Dr. Win. S. McPher-
son, Superintendent oi Labor and Agriculture, after the
words "Governor of this State."

Which was rejected.

Mr. Mitchell submitted the following amendment :

Add at the end of section 1, line 10, and provided fur-
ther that the said committee shall report to the General As-
sembly of Maryland the site selected by them, which report
shall be confirmed and adopted by the General Assembly be-
fore the committee shall close such purchase.

Which was adopted.

Mr. Iglehart moved a, reconsideration of the vote by which
the said amendment was adopted.

Decided in the negative.

The bill as amended was then read a second time and or-
dered to be engrossed for a third reading.

And having been engrossed,

Mr, Iglehart moved that the bill be read a third time this
day, in accordance with section 27, Article 3d of the Con-
stitution .
