Seat Methodist Episcopal Church and Cemetery Association
of Annapolis.

Which was read a first time.

On motion of Mr. Jordan,
(The rules being suspended,)

Leave was granted to the Committee on the Judiciary to in-
troduce a bill to legalize a bequest made by the last will and
testament of Margaret Dods, deceased, in favor of the Pastor
of the Presbyterian Church, in New Windsor, Carroll county.

On motion of Mr. Herbert,

(The rules being suspended,)

Leave was granted to the Committee on Corporations to in-
troduce a bill to extend the time for the completion of the
Western Maryland Rail Road.

The following bills, which had passed both Houses,
were this day submitted to his Excellency, the Governor, for
his approval:

An Act to add additional sections to Article 11 of the Code
of Public Local Laws of Frederick county, relating to the
powers and duties of the Mayor, Aldermen and Common
Council of Frederick city, to follow section 161.

An Act to repeal sections 46 and 47, of the Code of Pub-
lic Local Laws, for Somerset county, and to re-enact the same
with amendments.

An Act to incorporate the Maryland Permanent Land and
Building Society of Baltimore.

An Act authorizing the Commissioners appointed undei
the Act of 1840, chapter 215, and its several supplements to
invest certain money remaining in their hands.

An Act to incorporate the Washington county Savings In-
stitution.

An Act to repeal section 65 of Article 19 of the Code of
Public Local Laws of Somerset county, relating to the num-
ber of Justices of the Peace and Constables for said county,
and re-enacting the same with amendments.

Mr. Coudy called up the order instructing the Committee
on Education to report the general School bill.

Mr. Johnson moved that the Committee be instructed to
report by Tuesday morning next at 11 o'clock.

Mr. Blake moved that the Committee be instructed to report
on Wednesday morning next at 11 o'clock.

Decided in the negative.

The question then recurring, on the motion submitted by
Mr. Johnson,

It was decided in the affirmative.
