SATURDAY, February 29, 1868,

The House met, and was opened with prayer by the Rev.
Mr. Hendcrson.

Present at the call of the roll the following members :

Messrs. Stewart, (Speaker,) Loker, Boyer, Beck, Ham-
mond, Iglehart. Deale, Bond, of Calvert, Dalrymple, Mitch-
ell, Slingluff, Biddison, Rose, Lowe, Horsey, Percy, Stew-
art, of Dorchester, Johnson, Davis, of Cecil, Touchstone.
Richards, Williams, Legg, Holloway, Dutrow, Bowlus, May-
nard, Byers, Silver, Nelson, Vandiver, Hubbard., Sanner,
Wentz, Robb, Morse, Blake, Pentland, Bond, of Baltimore
city, Colton, Chaisty, Conway, Coudy, Herbert, Rohrer.
Riggs, Offutt, Conley, Kean, Trimble, Hall, Jordan, Wor-
thington, Fooks, Hopkins—53.

Mr. Boyer presented the petition of James M. Lees and 25
other citizens of Kent county, against the repeal of the Fu-
neral Law.

Which was read and referred to the Committee on the
Judiciary.

Mr. Maynard presented the petition of Hamilton Lind-
say, Adam D. Birely and 31 other citizens of Frederick
county against the repeal of the Funeral Law.

Which was read and referred to the Committee on the
Judiciary.

Mr. Jordan presented a petition from David Foutz, Jacob
M. Garber, Samuel McKinstry, and 58 other citizens oi
Frederick and Carroll counties, praying the passage of an
Act to incorporate a company to build a Turnpike Road from
Taneytown, via Union town and Linwood Station, W. M.
R. R., to McKinstry's Mills, in Carroll county.

Which was read and referred to the Committee on Cor-
porations.

Also,

Petition from citizens of Carroll county to legalize certain
bequests contained in the will of Margaret Dods, deceased.

Which was read and referred to the Committee on the
Judiciary.

Mr. Horsey presented the petition of Aurelia A. Long,
Wm. H. Roach and 30 other citizens of Somerset county,
praying the General Assembly to pass a law authorizing
