The bill entitled an Act to repeal the Act of 1865, chap.
60, entitled an Act to repeal sections 139, 140,141,142,143,
144, 145, 146, 147 and 148 of the Code of Public Local Laws
for Somerset county, relating to retailers, and to re-enact the
said sections 139 to 148, inclusive, of Article 19, of the Code
of Public Local laws, for Somerset county.
Which was read a first time and referred to Messrs. Cor-
bin, Horsey and Smith, of Worcester.
The Senate bill entitled an Act to alter and amend an Act
to incorporate the National Insurance Company of Allegany
county, passed at December session, 1847, chap. 111, and the
several supplements thereto, so as to convert the said com-
pany into a stock company, to be known as the Fire Insu-
rance Company of Allegany county,
Was read a third time and passed by yeas and nays as fol-

of the Public General Laws, by repealing the 2d section of
said Article, relating to the competency of witnesses and the
examination of parties, as amended by the Act of 1864,
chapter 109, and inserting in said Article, in lieu of the
said section so repealed, the following section, relating to
the competency of witnesses and the examination of parties,
