Gentlemen of the House of Delegates :
We have received your message informing us of the elec-
tion of Hon. Oden Bowie as Governor of the State of Mary-
land, and asking the appointment of a joint committee of
the two Houses to inform him of his election. We concur
therein, and have appointed on the part of the Senate,
Messrs. Earle, Carroll ana Snyder, We also respectfully
request the presence of your Honorable Body in the Senate
Chamber this day, at 2 o'clock P. M., to witness the inaugu-
ration of the Governor elect of Maryland.

On motion of Mr. Herbert,
At one o'clock P. M. the House took a recess for fifty
minutes.
Upon reassembling, Messrs. Earle, Clarke and Carroll, a
committee on the part of the Senate appeared in the House,
and announced that the oath of office was about to be admin-
istered to the Governor elect, and invited the attendance of
the House of Delegates.
The members proceeded in a body to the Senate Chamber,
and after the ceremonies of the inauguration had been con-
cluded, returned to the Hall.
On motion of Mr. Mullin,
At 2 1/2 o'clock P. M., the House adjourned until to-morrow
morning at 11 o'clock.
