On motion of Mr. Hammond,
(The rules being suspended)

Leave was granted to the Committee on Pensions to intro-
duce a bill to pay Mrs. Ann Hall, of the city of Annapolis,
widow of Henry Hall, a soldier of the war of 1812, a certain

sum of money.

Mr. Riggs, (the rules being suspended) submitted the fol-
lowing order :

Ordered, That Mr. Offutt have leave of absence for two
days,

Which was adopted.

Mr. Sanner, (the rules being suspended) presented a

Petition in regard to convict labor and House of Refuge.

Which was read and referred to the Select Committee on.
that subject.

Mr. Smith, of Worcester, Chairman of a select committee,
(the rules being suspended) reported favorably,

A bill entitled an Act to repeal sections 40 and 41 of the
Code of Public Local Laws for Worcester county, and to re-
enact the same with amendments.

Which was read a first time.

On motion of Mr. McElroy,
(The rules being suspended,)

Leave was granted to Messrs. McElroy, Bond, of Balti-
more city, and Mitchell, to introduce a bill entitled an Act to
repeal section 1 of Article 72, of Public General Laws, and
to re-enact a substitute therefor.

Mr. Markland moved that the House do now adjourn until
to-morrow morning, at 11 o'clock,
