this Act to be adopted by the , people of Charles
County, and they shall proceed to carry out the
provisions thereof as required therein, and the
same shall take effect from the date of said pro-
clamation.

 

Sec. 4. And be it further enacted, That this Act
shall also apply to the county of St. Mary's in its
provision ; provided, the sense of the people of
said county be taken on the question of its adop-
tion at an election to be held in said county on the
same day, and in the same mode in every respect
as provided in the preceding Section for Charles
County, and if it shall appear to the County Com-
missioners of St. Mary's County upon the returns
thereof being made to them in like manner, that
more ballots have been cast for than against the
adoption of said Act, they shall in like manner
issue proclamation declaring the same and proceed
to carry said Act into effect.

CHAPTER 453.

AN ACT to incorporate the Chestnut Summit
Avenue Company.

 

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly
of Maryland, That James Boyce, Benjamin Payne,
Edward Rider, Jr., W. M. Isaac and Lewis J.
Roberts be and they are hereby appointed Commis-
sioners to take subscriptions to the capital stock,
which shall be twenty-five thousand ($25,000)
dollars, of the Chestnut Summit Avenue Company
hereby incorporated, in shares of twenty dollars
($20.00) each, and they, or a majority of them,
may cause books to be opened at such times and
places, and for such period or periods, and upon
giving such notice as they may deem expedient of
the time and places of opening the same, for the
purpose of receiving subscriptions to the same, and
