dred dollars be and the same is hereby appropria-
ted to be paid to John de la Camp, in full compen-
sation to him for services to be rendered by him in
completing the maps of surveys heretofore made
by Commissioners, in tracing and defining the
boundary lines between the States of Maryland
and Virginia.

affidavit.

Sec. 2. And be it enacted, That the Comptroller
shall, upon the written statements of the said
John de la Camp, of the character and value of
his said work done, verified by his affidavit and
certified to by some officer of United States Engi-
neers, from time to time issue his warrant to the
Treasurer for the payment of the money hereby
appropriated, in such sums and installments as
shall be from time to time ascertained, from the
statements verified and certified to as aforesaid.

Sec. 3. And be it enacted as aforesaid, That this
Act shall take effect from the date of its passage.

CHAPTER 447.
AN ACT to add a new Section to Article ten of
the Code of Public General Laws, entitled "At-
tachments," to come in after Section forty-four
of said Article, giving jurisdiction to Justices of
the Peace to issue attachments in certain cases.

Amended.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly
of Maryland, That Article ten of the Code of Pub-
lic General Laws, entitled "Attachments," be
amended by adding thereto the following Section :

Attachment.
|
Sec. 45. Every Justice of the Peace may issue
an attachment in any of the cases mentioned in
the thirty-eighth Section of this Article, where the
sum claimed shall not exceed one hundred dollars,
upon the party applying for the same making be-
fore the Justice the affidavit, and exhibiting the
