County, the sum of eight hundred dollars, one-
half of said sum to be paid to the Board of Trus-
tees of Salisbury Academy, and the other half to
be applied to the Public School Fund of said
county.

Sec. 2. And be it enacted, That the donation
of two hundred dollars, now paid to the Trustees
of Salisbury Academy, for Somerset County, shall
hereafter be paid to the Trustees of Fairmount
Academy, in said Somerset County.

Sec. 3. And be it enacted, That the Treasurer,
upon the warrant of the Comptroller, shall pay
annually, on the first Monday in April, to the
Board of School Commissioners of Wicomico
County, the sum of four hundred dollars, in ad-
dition to the sum named in the first Section of
this Act, to be applied to the Public School Fund
of said county.

Sec. 4. And be it enacted, That this Act shall
take effect from the date of its passage.

CHAPTER 435.
AN ACT to repeal and re-enact with amend-
ments Section ninety-eight of Article sixteen
of the Code of Public General Laws, entitled
" Chancery," and relating to service of notice
on non-resident defendants.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly
of Maryland, That Section ninety-eight of Article
sixteen of the Code of Public General Laws, be
and the same is hereby repealed, and that then
be enacted in lieu thereof the following :
98. In all suits in chancery against non-resi-
dents or against persons who may be proceeded
against as if they were non-residents, the court
