above prescribed, they can pass a satisfactory ex-
amination, but the same may be revoked as here-
inbefore provided.

Military year.
|
Sec. 38. The military year shall commence on
the first day of April, eighteen hundred and sixty-
eight.
|
Military fund.
|
Sec. 39. The military fund, as it is received from
time to time into the Treasury, is hereby appro-
priated to carry into effect the provisions of this
Act, and a further sum not exceeding one hundred
thousand dollars per annum, is hereby also appro-
priated for the said purpose, and no expenditures
or contracts for expenditures shall be made for any
military purposes whatever exceeding the appro-
priations provided by Act of the General Assem-
bly.

In force.

Sec. 40. And be it enacted, That this Act shall
take effect from the day of its passage.

CHAPTER 415.
AN ACT to appropriate a sum of money to pay
sundry parties hereinafter named, for publishing
the Public General Laws, passed at January
Session of eighteen hundred and sixty-six and
eighteen hundred and sixty-seven.

Issue war-
rant.
|
SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly
of Maryland, That the Comptroller be and he is
hereby directed to issue his warrant upon the
Treasurer to pay William H. Lowdermilk, of Al-
legany County, three hundred and thirty-six
dollars, James S. Downs, of St. Mary's County,
five hundred and thirty-four dollars, for publishing
the Public General Laws of Session of eighteen
hundred and sixty-six ; and W. Eldridge Weber,
of Allegany County, five hundred and eighty-
