Repealed.

and sixty, Chapter three hundred and three, of the
General Assembly of Maryland, as entitles the
State of Maryland to two Directors in the Colum-
bia and Port Deposit Railroad Company, together
with other provisions of the said last Act, which
are in conflict with this Act, be and the same are
hereby repealed.

In force.

Sec. 3. And be it enacted. That this Act shall
take effect from the date of its passage.

Approved March 30, 1868.

 

CHAPTER 347.

AN ACT to incorporate the "Commerce Insurance
Company of Baltimore."

Incorporation

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly
of Maryland, That Thomas Kenset, S. B. Col-
well, R. Fowler, A. A. Perry, Glendi Stineart, J.
F. Wiley, Michael Roach, J. B. Brinkley, W. T.
Markland, Wm. Thompson of R., Geo. Colton,
A. P. Gorman, Z. Poteet and the subscribers to
the stock of the Company, be and they are hereby
declared to be a body politic and corporate by the
name and style of the "Commerce Insurance
Company of Baltimore," and by that name shall
have perpetual succession and be capable in law to
sue and be sued, plead and be impleaded, answer
and be answered, defend and be defended in all
courts of law and equity or elsewhere, to make and
use the common seal, and the same to alter or re-
new at pleasure, and generally to do and perform
all things relative to the objects of this institution
which now is or may be lawful for any individual
or body politic or corporate to do.

Sec. 2. And be it enacted, That the capital stock
of this Company shall consist of a sum not exceed-
ing four hundred thousand dollars, divided into
forty thousand shares of ten dollars each, two dol-
