CHAPTER 305.

AN ACT to provide for the compensation of the
Crier of the Circuit Court for Carroll County.

 

SECTION 1 . Be it enacted by the General Assembly
of Maryland, That the County Commissioners of
Carroll County be, and they are hereby authorized
and required to pay out of the general levy of said
county to the Crier of the Circuit Court three dol-
lars per day for each day said court is in session,
and said Crier in attendance upon said court,
which said per diem shall be in lieu of all other
compensation.

Sec. 2. And be it enacted, That this Act shall
take effect from the date of its passage.

CHAPTER 306.

AN ACT to incorporate the Knickerbocker Life
Insurance Company.

 

SECTION 1, Be it enacted by the General Assembly
of Maryland, That Christian Ax, J. Wesley Guest,
John A. Nichols, Townsend Scott, Erastus Lyman,
George R. Berry, Charles Stanton, David E.
Thomas, and George W. Robinson, and their asso-
ciates, successors and assigns, are hereby constituted
a body politic and corporate, by the name of the
Knickerbocker Life Insurance Company, for the
purpose of insuring the lives of individuals and
against accidents and casualties, and every insur-
ance appertaining thereto or connected with the
life or health risks, and to grant, purchase and
dispose of annuities, and to re-insure any risk
herein authorized to be undertaken. The said
Company to be located in the city of Baltimore.
