CHAPTER 266.
A SUPPLEMENT to the Act passed at the Janu-
ary Session of eighteen hundred and sixty-four,
Chapter one hundred and sixteen, entitled " An
Act to revive and extend an Act to incorporate
the Wicomico and Pocomoke Railroad Company,
with amendment passed at December Session,
eighteen hundred and forty-seven.

Lateral
branches.
|
SECTION 1 . Be it enacted by the General Assembly of
Maryland, That the President and Directors of the
Wicomico and Pocomoke Railroad Company, or a
majority of them, be, and they are hereby authorized
and empowered to construct any lateral branches
from the said Railroad, or to extend the main
stem of the same to any point or points in the
counties of Worcester and Wicomico deemed by
them expedient, and may possess and hold any
property, real or personal, necessary for the pur-
poses aforesaid, and acquire the same by agree-
ment or by the condemnation of a jury, in the
same manner, and upon the same terms and con-
ditions as is prescribed by the original Act to
which this Act is supplementary.

Power to
connect.
|
Sec. 2. And be it enacted, That, the President
and Directors of the aforesaid Railroad Company,
or a majority of them, shall have full power and
authority to connect said railroad with any other
railroad now existing or which may hereafter be
constructed within the counties of Worcester or
Wicomico, or touching their borders, and to make
such contracts and arrangements with other Rail-
road Companies for the through transportation of
passengers and freight, as may be agreed upon by
the respective Companies, or their agents, and not
inconsistent with the privileges, of the Wicomico
and Pocomoke Railroad Company, or the laws of
the State of Maryland.

Sec. 3. And be it enacted, That the President
and Directors of the aforesaid Railroad Company,
or a majority of them, may charge and collect for
the transportation of all goods, produce, merchan-
dise or property of any description whatever, not
exceeding six cents a ton per mile.
