Installment.
|
Sec. 8. And be it enacted, That the sums sub-
scribed to the stock of said Corporation shall be
paid five dollars per share to the hereinbefore
named Commissioners, at the time of subscribing
the said stock, and the residue to the President
and Directors of said Company, in such manner
and in such installments, and at such times as
the President and Directors may direct and ap-
point, they giving at least one month's notice in
all the newspapers published in Harford and Bal-
timore Counties of the payment required.

Sec. 9. And be it enacted. That after the Presi-
dent and Directors are elected in the manner here-
inbefore mentioned, they shall have full power and
authority to receive subscriptions for all subscribed
stock or vacant shares, and after the said election
the power hereinbefore vested in the Commissioner
for receiving subscription shall cease, provided,
nevertheless, that when either the capital stock or
a sum sufficient for the completion of the said road
is subscribed for, no further subscription shall be
received ; and provided further, that in all cases
five dollars per share shall be paid by each sub-
scriber at the time of said subscription.

Sec. 10. And be it enacted. That the width of
said road shall be fifty feet, that the said Com-
pany shall cause to be made upon the bed of said
turnpike road an artificial road of stone, gravel,
wood or some other hard substance, the bed of
which shall be at least sixteen feet wide, and shall
forever hereafter, during the continuance of said
Corporation, maintain and keep the same in good
order and repair, and cause bridges or culverts to
be erected over the waters crossing said road, com-
mencing at either end thereof, and when two miles
of said road shall have been completed in the man-
ner aforesaid, it shall and may be lawful for said
Company to erect a toll-gate thereon and charge
for every space of ten miles in length of the said
road the following sums of. money, and so in pro-
portion far any greater or lesser distance, or for
any greater or less number of sheep, hogs or cattle,
viz : For every score of sheep one-eighth of a dol-
lar; for every score of hogs, one-eighth of a dol-
