in Wicomico County, now provided for by law,
there shall be an additional Justice of the Peace
appointed for said district, in said county, and the
Governor is hereby authorized to appoint and com-
mission an additional Justice of the Peace, for said
district.

In force.

Sec. 2. And be it enacted, That this Act shall
take effect from the date of its passage.

CHAPTER 258.

AN ACT to incorporate the Mutual Fire Insurance
Company, of Saint Mary's County.

Incorporation

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly
of Maryland, That James S. Downs, W. A. Lo-
ker, James F. Abell, G. Fred. Maddox, Joseph
H. Key, Richard H. Miles, John B. Abell and
their successors, and all other persons who may
hereafter become members of the corporation to be
created by this Act, are hereby created and de-
clared to be a body politic and corporate, by the
name, style and title of "Mutual Fire Insurance
Company of St. Mary's County," and by the same
name shall have succession and shall be able to
sue and be sued, implead and be impleaded, an-
swer and defend, and be answered and defended
in all Courts of law and equity, in this State or
elsewhere, to have, make and use a common seal,
and the same to break, alter and renew at their
pleasure, and shall have full power and authority
to make insurances on any kind of property against
loss and damage by fire, to provide for the keeping

and investment of any funds or assets that may
become the property of the company, and generally
to transact, execute and perform all such business
as may appertain to a Fire Insurance Company,
not being contrary to this Act, or the Constitution
and laws of this State or of the United States ;
