each, in full compensation for their services in pre-
paring the drafts of laws contemplated by the
forty-eighth Section of the third Article of the
Constitution of this State, which have been report-
ed by them to the General Assembly at its present
Session.

Sec. 2. And be it enacted, That this Act shall
take effect from the date of its passage.

CHAPTER 202.
AN ACT to protect the navigation of the Patux-
ent River.
|
Nuisance.
|
SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly
of Maryland, That all weirs and hedges in the
Patuxent River above Hill's Bridge and below the
public wharf at the town of Queen Anne, are de-
clared nuisances and may be abated as such by any
person.
Sec. 2. And be it enacted. That if any person
shall place or make any weir or hedge in the said

Patuxent River, contrary to the provisions of the
preceding Section, he shall forfeit the sum of
twenty-five dollars, to be recovered before any
Justice of the Peace, either of Prince George's
County or Anne Arundel County, one-half to the
informer or person who may sue for the same, and
the other half to be paid to the Justice and by
him paid annually to the County Commissioners
of the county.

Forfeit.
|
Sec. 3. And be it enacted, That if any person
shall fish any such weir or hedge, he shall for
every offence forfeit the sum of fifteen dollars, to
be recovered and applied as directed in the preced-
ing Section.

Sec. 4. And be it enacted, That this Act shall
take effect; from the date of its passage.
