holders may be called by order of the Directors, or
by stockholders holding one-fifth in amount of the
capital stock by like notice as that required for
annual meetings, specifying, moreover, the object
of the meeting, but no business shall be transacted
at such special meeting unless a majority of the
stockholders shall attend in person or by proxy.

Locate road.

Sec. 12. And be it enacted, That the said Com-
pany be, and they are hereby authorized to locate
and construct a Railroad from some convenient
point at the limits of the city of Baltimore, to be
selected by them, to Pikesvjlle, Baltimore County,
over the Reisterstown turnpike road, or such other
route as they may select, and for such purpose
may enter into any contract with such Turnpike
Road Company, with the assent of said Turnpike
Road Company, which they are hereby authorized
to give, and upon such terms as may be agreed
upon between said Companies, and not otherwise ;
and may enter upon any land necessary for locat-
ing, laying out or making the said road, branches,
or extensions, or over another route that may be
selected, and may procure land, stone, gravel,
earth, wood or timber for such use, and obtain the
right to the same as hereinafter provided.

Purchase.

Sec. 13. And be it enacted, That the President
and Directors of said Company may agree with
the owner or owners of any lands, earth, gravel,
timber, or other materials or any improvements
for the construction or repair of the said road or
its works, for the purchase or use and occupation
of the same, and in case they cannot agree, or if
the owner or owners or any of them be a feme
covert, non compos mentis, or out of the State, on
application to a Justice of the Peace of Baltimore
County he shall issue his warrant under his hand
and seal directed to the Sheriff of said county re-
quiring him to summon a levy of twenty men, in-
habitants of the county and land owners, and each
party shall be entitled to strike from said list the
