those from St. Mary's County, the sum of seventy-
one dollars ; those from Somerset County, the sum-
of ninety-two dollars ; those from Talbot County,
the sum of eighty-six dollars ; those from Wash-
ington County, the sum of forty-nine dollars;
those from Wicomico County, the sum of eighty-
six dollars, and those from Worcester County, the
sum of ninety-four dollars.

In force.

Sec. 2. And le it enacted, That this Act shall
take effect from the date of its passage.

CHAPTER 79.

AN ACT to repeal sections two and six of Chap-
ter seventy-six, of the Act passed at December ses-
sion, eighteen hundred and forty-seven, entitled
"An Act to Incorporate a Company in the town
of Hagerstowo, in Washington County, to be
styled the Hagerstown Lyceum."

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly
of Maryland, That sections two and six of Chapter
seventy-six, of the Acts passed at December ses-
sion, eighteen hundred and forty-seven, entitled
an Act to incorporate a Company in the town of
Hagerstown, in Washington County, to be styled
the Hagerstown Lyceum, be and the same is hereby
repealed, and re-enacted so as to read as follows :

Capital stock.

Sec. 2. And be it enacted, That the stock of said
Company or Corporation shall not exceed the sum
of twenty thousand dollars, in shares of live dol-
lars each, subscribed or to be subscribed as afore-
said, to be used in the purchase of a suitable por-
tion of ground in the town of Hagerstown, in
Washington County, and the erection thereon of a
building or buildings, to contain a commodious
hall or saloon, for literary and scientific purposes,
