SATURDAY, February 1, 1868.

The House met, and was opened with prayer by the Rev.
Mr. Burke.

Present at the call of the roll the following members :

Messrs. Stewart, (Speaker,) Loker, Coad, Boyer, Beck,
Hammond, Iglehart, Deale, Chapman, Slingluff, Montague,
Holmes, Biddison, Rose, Lowe, Corbin, Horsey, Percy, Stew-
art, of Dorchester, Davis, of Cecil, Touchstone, Richards.,
Mearns, Keech, Williams, Sudler, Legg, Smith, of Wor-
cester, Dutrow, Wenrier, Bowlus, Maynard, Byers, Silver,
Nelson, Vandiver, Hubbard,Wentz, Robb, Morse, Blake,
Pentland, Smith, of Baltimore city, Bond, of Baltimore city,
Colton, Chaisty, McElroy, Harig, Markland, Conway, Roh-
rer, Offutt, Conley, McCulloh, Kean, Devecmon, Trimble,
Hall, Worthington, Fooks—59.

Mr. Rohrer presented the petition of Daniel Emmert and
104 other citizens of Washington county praying the pas-
sage of an Act prohibiting the sale of spirituous liquors in
a certain district in said county.

Which was read and referred to the Committee on the
Judiciary.

Mr. Bowlus presented the petition of 30 citizens of Fred-
erick, protesting against the passage of an Act authorizing
the corporate authorities of Frederick to subscribe to the
stock of the Frederick and Pennsylvania Line Rail Road
Company.

Which was read and referred to the Committee on Corpo-
rations.

Mr. Bowlus presented the petition of sundry citizens of
Frederick praying the passage of an Act amending 150tli
and 153rd sections of Article 11 of the Code of Public Local
Laws relating to inspections in Frederick.

Which was read and referred to the Committee on Inspec-
tions.

Mr. Biddison presented a petition from J. W. Kaufman
and other citizens of Baltimore county, against the running
of the cars on Sunday.

Which was read and referred to the Committee on Corpo-
rations.

Mr. Coad submitted the following order :

Ordered, That Mr. Offutt, of Montgomery county, be
granted leave of absence uutil Monday week.
