752 JOURNAL OF PBOOBBDING8 [Mar. 28, Which motion was determined in the negative by yeas and nays as follows: AFFIRMATIVE. Messrs. Biggs, Lee, Earle, Parker, of Calvert, Fields, Welch—7. Hammond, NEGATIVE. Messrs. President, Maddox, Browne, Miller, Brewer, Malone, Clarke, Spates, Grove, Smith, Henkle, Walsh—13. Hyland, House bill entitled an Act to increase the number of Free Scholarships in the Baltimore Female College, and to change the manner of appointing the Beneficiaries and Board of Trustees, Was taken up, and Mr. Malone submitted the following amendment : Amend section 3, line 8, strike out all after the word "counties," to the end of the section. Which was read and adopted. Said bill was then rejected by yeas and nays as follows : AFFIRMATIVE. Messrs. Browne, Miller, Clarke, Malone, Grove, Parker, of Calvert, Kimmel, Smith, Maddox, Walsh—10. NEGATIVE. Messrs. Biggs, Hyland, Brewer, Hammond, Fields, Lee, Henkle, Welch—8. For want of a constitutional majority. Mr. Malone gave notice of a motion to reconsider the above vote. House bill entitled an Act to continue in force chapter 118, of the laws of Maryland, passed at the January session, 1865, entitled an Act to repeal section 146 of the 3d Article, of the Code of Public Local Laws, relating to the office of Register of Wills, for Baltimore county, |
