1868.J OF THE SENATE. 553 On motion by Mr. Earle, Leave was granted to the Committee on Finance to report a bill to compensate Dr. James Higgins for a work on the agricultural and industrial resources of the State of Mary- land. Mr. Snyder presented the petitions of James League, John Busk, and other soldiers and soldiers' widows of the war of 1812, praying for pensions. Which was referred to the Committee on Pensions. On motion by Mr. Lee, Leave was granted to the Committee on Finance to intro- duce a bill to amend the Public General law for the enforce- ment of the collection of taxes. Mr. Spates, from the Committee on Corporations, re- ported favorably Senate bill entitled an Act to incorporate the Triadelphia Turnpike Company. Which was read the second time and ordered to beengrossed for athird reading. Also, reported favorably House bill entitled an Act to incorporate the Chesnut Summit Avenue Company. Which was read the second time. Mr. Spates, from the Committee on Corporations, reported favorably House bill entitled an Act to incorporate the town of Ber- lin, in Worcester county. Which was read the second time. Also, reported favorably House bill entitled an Act to repeal section 2, of the Act passed March 13th, 1867, chapter 286, entitled an Act to in- corporate the Chester river Fruit Packing Company, and to enact the same with amendments. Which was read the second time. Mr. Welch, from the Committee on Elections, reported favorably House bill entitled an Act to repeal sections 76 and 77, of Article 35, title Elections, of the Code of Public General Laws, and to enact a section in lien. thereof, regulating the time of the election of Representatives in Congress, of this State. Which was read the second time. |
