President, Hyland, Browne, Hammond, Biggs, Kimmel, Brewer, Lee, Carroll, Miller, Denson, Snyder, Earle, Smith, Fields, Welch—17. Grove, NEGATIVE. Messrs. Malone, Walsh—2. The bill was then returned to the House of Delegates. On motion by Mr. Earle, Leave was granted to the Committee on Finance to report a bill to refund to Father Michael Miller taxes erroneously paid into the Treasury of the State on church property, and property used for charitable purposes. The Clerk of the House of Delegates delivered House bill entitled an Act to repeal the Act passed 23d March, 1867, chapter 184, entitled an Act to repeal Article 71 of the Code of Public General Laws of the State of Mary- land, entitled Oysters, and to re-enact the same with amend- ments, and to enact the following in lieu thereof. Which was read the first time and referred to the Commit- tee on the Chesapeake Bay and its Tributaries. House bill entitled an Act to prohibit horse-racing on the public roads in Queen Anne's county, Was read the third time and passed by yeas and nays as follows: AFFIRMATIVE. Messrs. President, Hyland, Browne, Hammond, Biggs, Kimmel, Brewer, Malone, Carroll, Snyder, Earle, Smith, Fields, Walsh, Henkle, Welch—16. NEGATIVE—None. |
