364 JOURNAL OF PROCEEDINGS [Mar. 4, House bill entitled an Act to repeal section 138, of the Public Local Laws of Caroline county, title "Justices of the Peace and Constables," and to re-enact the same with mendments, so as to read as follows, Being under consideration, Mr. Fields offered the following amendment : Fourth line, section 138, strike out "two" and insert " one," and strike out one of said constables to reside within the limits of the town of Denton. Which was adopted, and the bill as amended was then read a third time, and passed by yeas and nays as follows : AFFIRMATIVE. Messrs. President, Hyland, Browne, Hammond, Biggs, Kimmel, Carroll, Lee. Earle, Spates, Fields, Snyder, Grove, Walsh—14. NEGATIVE—None. The bill was then returned to the House of Delegates. House bill entitled a supplement to an Act to incorporate the Merchants' and Miner's Transportation Company, passed in April, 1852, Was read a third time and passed by yeas and nays as follows: AFFIRMATIVE. Messrs. President, Hammond, Browne, Kimmel, Biggs, Lee, Carroll, Maddox, Earle, Spates, Fields, Snyder, Grove, Walsh—15. Hyland, NEGATIVE—None. The bill was then returned to the House of Delegates. On motion by Mr. Maddox, it was Ordered, That the list of Senators be called, and each Sen- ator be permitted to take up a bill, those Senators who have taken up a bill to-night, to be excluded in the first call of the roll. |
